Welcome to another week in the ongoing cases involving Brian Warner a/k/a Marilyn Manson and multiple women who have lodged abuse allegations against him – and Evan Rachel Wood’s ex-girlfriend Illma Gore.
It’s entirely possible now that we are in the month of December that things may start slowing down for the holidays. But they haven’t yet!
CHECKING IN ON SMITHLINE
On the calendar this week most notably is the December 5th deadline set by the court for Ashley Morgan Smithline at the start of October. When Smithline’s attorney Jay Ellwanger (currently still representing Esme Bianco) motioned to quit her case in dramatic fashion – the judge granted a 60 day stay for Smithline to designate new representation or prepare to represent herself. If she misses this deadline, the court did also say her lawsuit could potentially be dismissed.
It’s worth noting this drama originally arose within the Bianco case – where Smithlilne was subpoenaed to turnover communications but also sit for a deposition.
She indicated to Manson’s attorney Howard E. King in emails turned over to the court that she was willing to sit for this deposition. Now that the 60-day stay is over… she may do so soon. We don’t know.

ILLMA GORE DEPOSITION UPDATE
In October, Illma Gore sat for a court-ordered deposition to discuss her state of mind when circulating false statements that Manson’s short horror film from the 90s ‘Groupie’ contained abuse of a minor. This is not true.
The actress within the film was over the age of 21, it was not pornographic in nature and she submitted a sworn statement supporting Manson’s case in July 2022. Manson is suing Gore and Wood for defamation related to this film and I go into much more detail on that, here.
- 12/4/22: Another portion of Gore’s deposition was made public by her attorney along with mention of redacted portions as they relate to Jane Doe — who has a protective order in her lawsuit.

I shared a Twitter thread walking through the deposition transcript, here:

HIGHLIGHTS FROM HER DEPOSITION
- Illma Gore flip-flops on her timeline – specifically when an ‘anonymous’ person reached out to her indicating that the actress in Groupie was underage at the time and possibly committed suicide. First she says this was 2016 – 2017 but then she switches to 2018 – 2019. Which is it?
- Gore shares that she has not seen Groupie (she’s also never even met Manson) so her knowledge about the film comes strictly from third parties. She says she discussed the film with the anonymous person who DMed her as well as actress Evan Rachel Wood, actress Esme Bianco, model/actress Ashley Morgan Smithline, ex personal assistant for Manson Ashley Walters and a “Jane Doe”
- Gore states she thinks a simulated sex act with an underage actress is a serious allegation but says she doesn’t find it derogatory in nature as a rumor to spread
- Gore denies ever speaking to Michele Meyer – owner of the phone number on the fake FBI letter – about the Groupie video. Meyer submitted a sworn statement to the contrary, sharing in October 2020 Gore told her about the film featuring a 16 year old actress who went onto commit suicide from the trauma endured and that the film was under investigation by the FBI
- Manson’s attorney Howard E. King started to play an audio he stated was a conversation between Gore and Michele Meyer – asking Gore if she recognized her voice. Her attorney objected and that line of questioning was dropped for now.
- On Feb. 3, 2021 – the LAPD emailed Tony Ciulla something and Manson’s attorneys showed this email to Gore. It wasn’t discussed what it said because Gore’s attorneys objected to that line of questions but Ciulla is Manson’s long-time manager who stopped working with him after abuse allegations were made in 2021.
