As an Australian-American artist minding her own business, working and supporting her two beautiful daughters as a single mother — Bryton Gore is an individual who never expected to find herself connected to the coordinated takedown of Brian Warner aka Marilyn Manson.
Except that is exactly what happened when she powered up an iPad device her twin sister, Ashley Illma Gore, had given to her because of a cracked screen in the event her nieces would be able to use it. Bryton put her IT background to use to get the broken device functioning again and on it she found a number of files connected to Illma and her then employer Evan Rachel Wood’s malicious actions against Marilyn Manson.
The device also housed evidence of a decade-long hoax that her twin sister had been exercising to misrepresent herself as Bryton’s conservator to guilt family members and friends into giving her money.
Bryton nor her two daughters have received any of this money nor were they ever supported by Illma.
Bryton Gore was stunned to see that Evan Rachel Wood and her sister Ashley Illma Gore participated in forging an “FBI” letter impersonating a real federal agent as well as a number of other nefarious files connected to a hoax to publicly cast Marilyn Manson as a serial abuser for media attention they hoped would bolster their careers.
Bryton was also witness and in direct communication with Evan and Illma as they developed the disgraced “Phoenix Rising” documentary directed by Amy Berg for HBO that was littered with falsehoods as well as featured the kidnapping of a child, swatting Marilyn Manson at his private residence and other highly suspicious activity — including that the women were monitoring Manson’s home, hacking his private accounts and impersonating him online.
But more than that…
It was shocking for Bryton Gore to discover her sister had been exercising a scheme to falsely cast her as “disabled” to approach friends and family for money under the guise she was responsible for supporting Bryton and her daughters financially.
In reality, the situation was reversed.
Bright and hard-working, Bryton Gore lived a stable life and was employed full time in Australia. It was she who caved to Illma’s repeated requests for money over the years — including renting an office space in LA that was featured in staged scenes for Phoenix Rising. This was an especially kind gesture as a single mother living in a different country from her sister in California.
Faced with the decision of what to do with the information she uncovered on the iPad, Bryton made the choice to stand up for what was right in her heart. She turned her findings over to Marilyn Manson’s legal team. Portions of the evidence Bryton surfaced are included in the lawsuit Manson filed against Gore and Wood on March 2, 2022 — Bryton and Illma’s birthday.
The files were authenticated by a forensic expert and are in Manson’s hands as evidence.
Additionally, Bryton submitted testimony that she witnessed her sister having a stressed April 2021 phone conversation between Wood and Gore after Wood filed the forged FBI letter in a custody dispute.
Later that fall after Ashley Illma Gore circulated that Bryton had committed suicide, Evan and Bryton spoke on the phone about the forged FBI letter. Bryton testifies that Evan wasn’t concerned about the fact she’d filed the letter in family court but was concerned if the letter being a fake was made public it would hurt her so-called movement.
Ashley Illma Gore and Evan’s legal teams fought very hard to have the bulk of Bryton’s testimony struck as evidence — but they lost their eight objections in LA Superior Court. All but one sentence remain on record.
Bryton Gore Speaks Out
In new “Justice for Marilyn Manson” podcast episode, Bryton Gore shares on her experiences growing up with her sister in Gold Coast Australia. The two no doubt had a difficult childhood with a father that passed away at the age of two and a surviving mother who was abusive and battled alcoholism.
They were raised without a support system and went on to be emancipated in their early adolescence. Their mother passed away not long after when the sisters were age 16. Following their mother’s death, Illma went to live in America with family as Bryton stayed behind as a single, young mom. Years later, she took a leap of faith to reunite with family in America and it was in America where she was a direct witness to the fallout of Ashley Illma Gore and Evan Rachel Wood’s relationship and what the two had been working on.
