Currently the lawsuit Brian Warner a/k/a Marilyn Manson filed against Evan Rachel Wood and her partner Illma Gore is gearing up for a big anti-slapp hearing. The hearing was scheduled for Dec. 1, 2022 but is now postponed till Feb. 7, 2023 due to a high volume of evidentiary objections.
WHAT THE HECK IS AN ANTI-SLAPP MOTION?
Well, the short answer is a motion to strike portions of Manson’s lawsuit alleging a conspiracy and fraud by Evan Rachel Wood and Illma Gore as protected “free speech”.
Probably the most notable topic of discussion is that of a fake FBI letter that Wood filed in a custody case as an excuse for relocating her son to Tennessee without the consent of his father.
Wood says it doesn’t matter essentially that she filed a fake FBI letter in court because it’s protected under litigation privilege. What she has failed to address is how the DailyMail ran this forged letter as well as other court papers in a Dec. 6, 2021 article that mysteriously features a copyright insignia for the law firm representing Ms. Wood.
DEFINITELY check out this walk through all the receipts on record to date on the fake FBI letter, here.
The next topic that could be struck as “free speech” is Gore and Wood is a rumor spread that Manson murdered a minor in a horror film project in the 90s. This is a large falsehood. The actress is thankfully alive, was over the age of 21 at the time and has filed a declaration supporting Manson’s case.
PRE-HEARING FILINGS FROM MANSON
Manson’s legal team made a number of filings back in July 2022 that will be addressed in the upcoming anti-slapp hearings. They filed additional documents on Nov. 15, that include their legal reasoning as to why Evan Rachel Wood and Illma Gore should lose their motions to strike as well as supporting evidence and statements for the judge to consider.
